Cable gaps can make netting a better bird-exclusion choice

An invisible grill is not automatically a bird-exclusion system. Birds may pass between cables or through untreated side gaps. Netting may suit an open enclosure, while spikes may suit a narrow landing surface. Discuss the bird involved, the opening and maintenance access before selecting a method.

Mark pipes, side gaps and access points in the bird-control scope

• Ask which front and side openings are included, and what happens at pipes, ducts and changes in level.
• Confirm whether cleaning, removal of old fittings and access work are included. Have existing nests or trapped birds assessed before sealing an opening.
• Agree how residents can clean windows and service AC equipment after the work, including any access panel or removable section.

Watch for bird activity at untreated surfaces after installation

After installation, observe whether bird activity shifts to another untreated surface. Inspect gaps and fittings as advised, particularly after maintenance work around the opening. Report damage or entry promptly. Keep maintenance instructions with the agreed scope so that subsequent work does not reopen the route.
